What do you mean by Logon Trigger and when they get triggered?
In SQL whenever there is a logon event happen, Logon triggers will initiate stored procedures. And this will occurs when a user session is created with an instance of SQL Server. And this Logon triggers fire only when the authentication stage of logging is over. And in case when authentication phase is fails, logon triggers won't fire stored procedures.
