Case study about the Supertech Twin Tower Noida India?
Two towers name "The Apex" and "Ceyane Towers" colloquially names as the Noida Supertech Twin Towers. These were incomplete residential building located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. And these two towers were part of real estate company "Supertech's Emerald Court residential complex.". Order to demolition in 2022 by Supreme court of India.
As per the original plan for Emerald Court residential complex noida in 2005 it will contain 14 buildings which included 3,4 and 5 BHK flats.
In year 2009 plans for twin towers "Apex and Ceyane" were added to Emerald Court development. There were originally conceived as 24 storey structures which need to built on a triangular site originally allotted for a green area.
And Supertech mainly modified plan for third time in March 2012. And they revised to include 15 building instead of 14 and eleven floors in place of Nine. And height also increased from 20 to 40.
Now come to Legal case in mid 2012 residents of Emerald court filed a case in Allahbad High Court seeking demolition of twin towers. And in year April 2014 case rules in favor of residents. Now matter has reached to Supreme Court of India which upheld the Allahabad High Court decision on 31 August 2021. As construction of towers violated India National Building Code.

To demolition Noida authority and Roorkee-based Central Building Research Institute tasked Edifice Engineering and South African firm Jet Demolition to demolish the buildings. The buildings were brought down through implosion.
Date of demolition:-28 August 2022
To demolition it will take 9 seconds and 560 police personnel and NDRF cadets were deployed around the area. And this takes around 3500kg(From Palwal, Haryana) of detonators were used and no damage to neighboring buildings were reported.
Note:-To demolition 3500 kg of explosive will be filled within 9400 holes drilled in the columns and sheers of the nearly 100-metre tall twin towers. | |
