| What is ASP.NET Web API
Before going directly on ASP.NET Web API i will first provide some information regarding the API. API is some kind of interface which have some set of function that helps programmers to access specific features. We can used that any where in our application. API over the web can be accessed using HTTP protocol. Now comes to ASP.NET Web API.
ASP.NET Web API is framework which is an extensible. It is used to build HTTP based services that we can accessed in different application and on different platforms and these platforms are Web, Windows or mobile. It looks like WebService or WCF service but the difference is that it only supports HTTP protocol.
